Our annual sibling trip was expanded this year to include Ted. It has been a while since I’ve been on a trip with my brother but it was just as fun as I remembered. We had a blast and I can’t wait to have a repeat trip.

Mavericks Tournament
This weekend was the opener for the Mavericks Spring season. They ended up going 2 for 4.
Game 1: won 14-2 Mavericks vs CBA Summit. Tyler caught the whole game and threw one kid out at second. At batting he got one hit and a walk. Zero strike outs.
Game 2: won 4-3 Mavericks vs Fly Fam. Tyler played first base and third. He got one hit, a few walks, zero strike outs.
Game 3: lost 8-9 Mavericks vs Trosky. This game was a hard one to lose. They could have beat this team full of scout kids. Tyler walked and struck out once. He caught the entire game and coach said he is saving runs.
Game 4: lost 8-1 Mavers vs Roadrunners. Tyler caught almost the entire game. He was switched out after the 4th inning. He threw a kid out trying to steal 3rd base. He walked, got hit by a pitch and struck out.
On our way home we hit some bad weather but made it safely. It was a fun weekend and sparked Tyler’s interest back into playing baseball.

Saint George & All State Showcase
This weekend we spend down in Saint George with friends and so Braiden could participate in the Prep-Baseball Report All-State event. This is what they posted about it.
The Biggest and Best event in the country just got even bigger and better than ever!
Today’s Preseason All-State at Pine View HS in St. George, UT (110 players), was the biggest and brightest event in the #BeehiveState’s 4 year run! Many handshakes were made today, with head turning/standout performances!
The Pratt family, Leslie and Averie, Braiden and me all had fun the day before the event playing games and after the event at Big Shots. We quickly learned that Braiden and Steve knew what they were doing while Gen, Leslie, Averie and I struggled just to get the ball to go off the tee. It was a fun weekend and I’m glad we got to spend it with friends.

Mondale Wedding
Today we had the opportunity to attend Lindsey and Josh’s wedding. It was beautiful. My dad officiated and totally forgot to have us all sit after Lindsey made it to the end. You would think he would remember since he’s done that before. Lindsey seems very happy and Josh was so excited for this day to come. The reception was beautiful. Beyond happy for the couple.

MMHS Winter Camp
The camp has started off rocky due to massive amounts of rainfall in Saint George. What was supposed to be a two day camp has been pushed down to one day. However, that meant that Anthony could join us on the trip. We left when he got off work. For dinner we ate at Lonny’s Boy BBQ. The staff forgot they took our order and was surprised we were even waiting. At least the food was good when it finally arrived. We then drove to the lodge we were staying. A few hours in we felt the entire lodge shake. Our bed and also the loft Braiden was staying in. After a quick internet search we found out there was a 3.5 magnitude earthquake near Springdale UT which is where we are staying.
First game Braiden started catching. He was 5th batter. First at bat he got a double. Struck out the second. The score was 1-1 until the 5th inning. Braiden’s hit was the only run scored for Maple Mountain. Needless the say the pitching was a problem once Blake stepped off the mound. MMHS lost 7-1
Game 2 Braiden got moved up to 4th batter. His first at bat he struck out. This game he again was starting catcher with Chase on the mound. Second at bat was another strike out. His third at bad he was hit in the helmet after a full count. The second game they lost 2-1. Overall Braiden played well in the field. His hitting count used some improvement. It was a fun weekend and a great start to the upcoming season.
